Our Story
Hello, I'm Janine O’Neil, and I’ve been doing hair for 16 years. For the last 8 of those years, I had the honor of serving my hometown community of Old Fort, North Carolina, where my twin sister and I opened Root Salon back in 2017. In 2024, we lost our beloved salon to Hurricane Helene—a heartbreaking loss for us and for the community that grew around it. Since then, I’ve continued my craft in a local salon, holding onto the same spirit of connection and care that Root was built on. Now, I’m excited to start a new chapter with Deeply Rooted Studio in Black Mountain, North Carolina. This space is born from faith, resilience and love— mellow, down-to-earth haven where everyone is welcome to relax, take a deep breath, and make yourself at home.
